Buffalo Tom maybe on hiatus in terms of making the next album, but its singer/songwriter Bill Janovitz isn't lazing around. His new band Crown Victoria churns out the same passionate rock music as Buffalo Time, and their new album Fireworks on TV! is a spirited gem, maybe one of the best of the year. High flying rockers such as "My Radio," "Almost Beating," and "Sinking" are bright, earthy, and feel-good sounding; Janovitz is also capable of the folksy intimate moments like that of "These Pictures" and "Mary Kay." Janovitz's new band play with vigor and so does the singer himself with his typical soulful, rough-hewn voice.
