A Strong Crop in Fall's First Harvest
* * * Bill Janovitz, "Up Here," SpinArt.
Fans who have pogoed with the Buffalo Tom frontman and his jouncy guitars will
appreciate his folky side. Janovitz's second solo effort features poignant looks
at suburban inquietude, personal loss, matrimony and fatherhood told over strummed
and steel guitars and measured keyboards. His perfectly imperfect voice, paired
on three songs with Fuzzy's Chris Toppin, wears like a loose-fitting, frayed
sweater. Darn comfortable.
